Morton's is one of the most expensive and elegant restaurants in Singapore. It is only available in Singapore, Hong Kong, and of course, America. They have the best steaks in the world, an amiable ambience and pleasant services.
To celebrate my birthday, my parents brought me to Morton's. We'd dressed up properly, me in jeans and halter neck. Really, do we have to go into details?
We'd ordered shrimps for appertizers. Doesn't sound appertizing? The shrimps were perfectly cooked to the point that it was crunchy on the outside, but soft and smooth on the inside. The sauce to go with it was heavenly. The slight taste of lemon and the mixture of a little orange sauce gave it a perfect combination of heaven.
I wasn't joking.
Next we had oysters. Fresh, uncooked and enormous oysters. The smell of the sea wafted into my nostrils and gave me a jerk in the stomach. I wanted to both taste it and run away from it. I ate one, but donated my other one to my Mom. My sister didn't touch it at all.
Then the prime rib, sauteed mushrooms and french fries came up. We shared all of them. The steak was cooked to perfection, sweet and juicy that looked hard but was tender and easy to chew. Even the french fries tasted good. The mushrooms were the best, though, it was something I had always dreamed of.
Then came the desserts. Gosh. It was freaking fantastic. I had chocolate of death. Mmmm... Chocolate and vanilla ice cream are the best combination one can get. To top it all, it was free as it was my birthday! Hip hip hooray! That was 23 dollars less on the bill.
We also had apple pie with ice cream, but compared to the chocolate of death, it was merely a commoner.
After our dinner, Morton's took a picture of the family and framed it for us! I keep it in my book of life. I will never forget it!
If my fifteenth birthday was this good, what would my sixteenth birthday be like?
